We represent, quite often, the meritorious claims of individuals against large and powerful corporations and organizations.
See most recently that we prevailed in behalf of a widow, Pamela Brown, against Zurich US, a large multi-national insurance company in its quest to defeat Mrs. Brown’s modest claim for her deceased husband’s life insurance.
(Cited in Ohio’s case reporters as Brown v Zurich, 150 Ohio App.3d 105, 779 N.E. 2d 822; certiorari denied Zurich to the Supreme Court of Ohio at 98 Ohio St.3d 1491, 785 N.E.2d 473; motion for reconsideration denied Zurich at 98 Ohio St.3d 1568, 787 N.E.2d 1232.)
What would have cost Zurich no more than $54,000 in payment of the policy proceeds to our client, ultimately cost them over one-half million dollars, including compensatory and punitive damages, attorneys’ fees, costs and interest. The case took four years to conclude.
We do persevere, challenging much larger firms in Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati in many cases.
Our extensive domestic practice includes contested divorces, custody litigation, significant asset cases, post decree matters, contempts and parentage litigation.
Likewise, Jean’s practice in the probate courts includes will contests, contested guardianships, complex administration of decedent’s estates, as well as trust administration. |
